John Ohanesian, President and Chief Executive Officer
Since joining Bosley as President in October, 1990, John Ohanesian has led the growth from eight offices to 90 offices and from 68 employees to over 600 employees. John has been President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Bosley since August 1, 2001, after successfully completing the acquisition of Bosley by Aderans Co., Ltd., of Tokyo, Japan. He has been the prime caretaker of the core values-personal integrity and the highest level of quality patient care-of the company's founder, Dr. L. Lee Bosley. Previously, John was Vice President of Saint Johns Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica, CA, from 1984 to 1990.  Prior to that he was the Adminstrator of Health Services for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing committee from 1982 - 1984.

John is also President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of the biotech company, Aderans Research Institute (AR). ARI is based in Philadelphia and Atlanta; its primary focus is hair duplication through tissue engineering. Presently, the ARI team has 53 scientist, engineers, and administrative staff.

From 1990 to 1996, he was a member of the California Citizens Compenstation Commission, as an appointee of Governor George Deukmejian. From 1985 to 1990 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hospital Home Health Care Agency, Inc. and its Chairman from 1986 to 1990. From 2001 to 2008, John was a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Music Center's Center Theatre Group, (operating company for the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre).

From 2005 to 2008, John was a member of the Board of Directors of the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute, which is a world leading comprehensive cancer center as designated by the National Cancer Institute. In early 2004, John was selected as a Finalist in the 18th annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2004, an honor awarded to outstanding entrepreneurs from the Greater Los Angeles Area for their vision, leadership and achievement in the business community. The Concern Foundation named John as their honoree for 2004 for his philanthropic and humanitarian efforts in the Greater Los Angeles area. The 30th Annual Block Party held on July 17, 2004 honoring John, raised in excess of $1.4 million for cancer research. Since 2007, John has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Archer School for Girls in Brentwood. John is also Advisory Trustee of the Biller Family Foundation. 

John earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University Sonoma in 1977 and his Master of Arts in Health Administration from California State University Long Beach in 1980. Mr. Ohanesian resides in Beverly Hills with his two daughters, Adona and Ava, both of whom attend Archer School for Girls in Brentwood. During his spare time John enjoys attending the theatre, exercising, playing organized baseball with Dodgertown West, an occasional round of golf, reading, spending time with his children and relaxing at his vacation home in La Quinta.Also, John enjoys supporting his daughter’s schools, in particular, the Curtis School Hot Lunch Program where he volunteered annually from 1994 to 2006.



Armen Markarian, Chief Operating Officer
Armen Markarian joined Bosley in 1991 as Vice President of Operations. He was appointed its Chief Operating Officer in 2001. After receiving a BA from UCLA, he acquired over fifteen years executive experience in operations and administrative management in a variety of health care settings including nationwide medical groups, clinical laboratories and medical supply firms including American Pharmaseal, St. John’s Hospital and St Joseph’s Medical Center. Armen’s role at Bosley is to ensure patient satisfaction and operational efficiency through judicious management of all human resources and effective administration of all operational policies and protocols.



George Fettig, Vice President, Marketing
George Fettig comes to Bosley with twenty-five years experience in senior marketing positions including 1-800 Doctors, American MedTech, American Harvest, NordicTrack, and Dial Corporation. He earned his BBA and MBA degrees at Northeastern University. With Bosley for five years, his responsibilities include consumer marketing, media management and direct response initiatives. He also oversees the Bosley website and all advertising, striving to communicate the Bosley message in a truthful, accurate and accessible manner.



Paul Craig, Chief Financial Officer
Paul Craig provides the financial experience and leadership to enhance Bosley’s financial infrastructure.  As CFO, he is responsible for formulating Bosley’s financial policy and plans and for providing overall direction for forecasting, accounting, tax, insurance, budget, credit and treasury functions.  He works to ensure that these financial transactions, policies and procedures meet our company’s short and long term objectives.  Externally, he interacts with public markets – including underwriters and institutional investors –  to ensure regulatory compliance and reporting requirements are met.



Roger Aull, General Counsel
After receiving his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law, Roger Aull practiced law in Indianapolis before relocating to Southern California in 1978. In 1994 he began serving as general counsel at Bosley. As part of his responsibilities he handles all legal and regulatory matters, consistent with the needs of a nationwide elective surgical practice. He attended special educational programs at Harvard Law School and graduated from the Executive Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in May of 2005. Roger works with management to ensure that the highest standards of conduct are incorporated into every aspect of company policy.



Robert D.B. Spurrell, Vice President of Operations
Robert Spurrell came to Bosley over ten years ago in the marketing department and served as the Marketing Director. As Director of Business Development, he was instrumental in expanding Bosley into over 85 offices in North America.  Rob now manages the Bosley Regional Surgical Offices and ensures compliance with Bosley standards and protocols. He also oversees the training and development of staff to keep team members at technical expertise and knowledge levels commensurate with the high quailty care and service provided to all Bosley patients. With a BA in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.B.A. from the W.P. Carey School at Arizona State University, Rob is well equipped to manage Bosley’s continued excellence at the top of the cosmetic surgery field.

 

Michael J. May, Director of Human Resources
Following a liberal arts education at the University of Wisconsin, Michael J. May worked in the insurance industry, in personnel recruiting and in equipment sales and leasing, eventually making the transition to Human Resources. He has been with Bosley since 1995, assisting with the opening of the Portland office and the creation of the extensive call center in Beverly Hills. He now directs the company’s team member programs and was selected to be a featured Employer Representative at the HR.com “Power to the People Series.” He was a featured speaker at the NCHRA (Northern California Human Resources Association) annual conference, at the ASHHRA Annual Conference 2007 and  at the 2007 Conference Board Annual Benefits Conference (speaking on workforce engagement and Bosley's journey to become a "Great Place to Work." Michael is a member of the SHRM, The Society for Human Resource Management; ASHHRA, the American Society of Healthcare Human Resource Administration and PIHRA, Professionals in Human Resource Administration. Michael ensures that Bosley team members are carefully selected for their dedication to patient service and high level of technical and clinical skill.


 
William Raup, Director of Strategy and Planning
William Raup has over twenty years experience in executive leadership positions as principle architect for a variety of healthcare marketing and patient-communications programs. Now at Bosley as Director of Strategy and Planning, he works closely with the Patient Services Group and the Marketing Department to develop broader channels of communication for patients and prospective patients to make the process of obtaining information easy and convenient. William has a BA from Evergeen State College in Olympia, Washington.



Laura Sullivan, Director of Operations
Laura Sullivan is responsible for the growth and expansion of Bosley. She establishes new surgical and consultation offices and develops business relationships to further expand the Bosley business model. Laura also oversees the recruitment and affiliation process of new Bosley physicians. Laura first joined Bosley as Quality Services Manager for Senior Counselors. She was responsible for ensuring that Counselors and all operations relating to the Counselor function were in compliance with established Bosley administrative and medical-legal protocols. Laura is a member of the California State Bar and, prior to coming to Bosley, practiced law for 12 years. She earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and her law degree from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. She has a broad background in medical and business law.
