Hair Transplantation Options

If you’re a candidate for surgical hair restoration, your counselor or physician will discuss the two primary procedures we offer: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). They’ll talk to you about the differences between each procedure and answer any questions you may have about the benefits of each approach. Using the results of your scalp and hair analysis, they’ll also be able to provide an estimate of how many grafts you’ll need to meet your goals.

Discussing Your Other Options

In addition to discovering permanent hair restoration options, your counselor will give you information on our non-surgical hair loss treatments that could be part of your hair restoration plan. This could include our Bosley Professional Strength treatment for men and women (including a 5% Minoxidil solution), and low-level laser therapy devices like the Capillus® laser cap. Also, Bosley offers the Bosley SMP®, which is a non-surgical treatment called scalp micropigmentation that’s suitable for all types of hair loss. By applying a proprietary pigment (ink) to the scalp with a special micro-fine needle, technicians are able to create thousands of tiny impressions that give the appearance of fuller hair — all without the need for surgery.
